ART THERAPY
The Master of Arts in Counseling with an Art Therapy concentration at Wayne State University prepares graduates for counseling and art therapy practice, with eligibility for LLPC and A.T.R. credentials in the United States.
Art therapy integrates psychotherapy and creative processes to support mental health in individual and group settings.
"With over sixteen years in K–12 education, I have focused on individualized learning that supports every student. I aim to meet students where they are and support their growth in ways that are personal and meaningful. My completion of the art therapy masters program has increased these abilities exponentially."
Process Over Product

Work created in therapy sessions is not necessarily intended for public viewing. The value lies in the process of making—the relationship between the artist, the artwork, and the therapist—rather than the finished product. As a result, outcomes of art therapeutic practice may look quite different from those of traditional artmaking.
Each piece is a personal experience for the artist.
